Strategic Nurturing of Collaboration Between Institute of Governance and Development Studies & the Office of the National Security Adviser

The Institute of Governance and Development Studies, a beacon of academic excellence within Nasarawa State University, Keffi embarked on its highly anticipated annual study tour. This year’s tour started at the esteemed Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), a pivotal institution in Nigeria’s governance and security landscape. Led by the erudite Professor Andrew E. Zamani, the esteemed Director of the Institute, the delegation comprised a cohort of passionate PhD students eager to glean insights and experiences from the nation’s foremost experts in security and governance.
 
At the helm of the delegation, Professor Zamani eloquently conveyed the sentiments of the University Vice Chancellor, Professor Suleiman Bala Muhammed, acknowledging his visionary leadership and profound impact on the university’s trajectory since assuming office. The Vice Chancellor’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and holistic development has propelled Nasarawa State University, Keffi to new heights of success and prominence within the academic community.
On the other hand, the National Coordinator of the National Counter Terrorism Center commended the Institute of Governance and Development Studies for sustaining the spirit of the strategic partnership between Nasarawa State University, Keffi and the Office of the National Security Adviser. He gave assurances of the National Security Adviser’s goodwill for the partnership.
 
During the visit, engaging discussions and thought-provoking dialogues took center stage as the delegation interacted with key officials and experts at the National Security Adviser’s office. From strategic policy frameworks to intricate security dynamics, the exchange of ideas was both enlightening and enriching, offering valuable perspectives on the complex interplay between governance, security, and development in Nigeria and Africa at large.
 
As a gesture of appreciation and solidarity, a meticulously crafted plaque was presented by the office of the National Security Adviser and also the delegation of Nasarawa State University, symbolizing the enduring partnership and mutual commitment between the institute and the esteemed office. This symbolic token encapsulated the spirit of collaboration, innovation and shared aspirations for a safer and more prosperous Nigeria.
 
For the institute’s PhD students, the study tour was a transformative experience, providing a rare opportunity to witness theory in action and immerse themselves in the intricacies of real-world governance and security challenges.
